Gear this week: A speaker that plays what you like, Lightning McQueen and more

Prizm

You know about Apple Music and Spotify. Prizm is a little different. It’s a futuristic-looking speaker that sits on your desk and cleverly plays music it thinks you’ll like. You train it by simply creating a profile and liking or disliking music that’s played. Prizm goes through its catalog of music through Wi-Fi, analyzes the time of day, the number of users and ambient sound levels, to play the tracks it thinks best suit the moment.

DJI Spark

DJI’s newest drone is also its smallest, and possibly its most user-friendly. The little Spark features DJI’s signature tech, with intelligent flight control, a mechanical gimbal, and a camera that shoots Full-HD video (no 4K, unfortunately). Spark can lift off from the palm of your hand and hover automatically, as well as let you take pictures just by using hand gestures.

Sphero Ultimate Lightning McQueen

Sphero, the company that brought you an adorable BB-8 toy, is back with the Ultimate Lightning McQueen, and trust us when we say this toy car is unlike any you’ve seen before. Thanks to animated eyes, an animatronic mouth with audio, and a sophisticated suspension system, you’ll think this was a real miniature Lightning McQueen brought to life. And yes, you can drive, drift and race with it using your Android or iOS phone.

Lenovo Legion Y920

The Lenovo Legion Y920 is the first truly high-end gaming laptop to come out of the company’s Legion gaming brand. It features a 17.3-inch G-Sync panel, an overclockable mobile processor, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, so you should tear through pretty much any game. A one-click overclocking button also gets you a quick performance boost when you need it.

Manfrotto National Geographic Australia Camera Bag

Manfrotto’s new line of National Geographic bags is inspired by the reds and blues of Australia’s outback and seas, with earthy-red Italian leather and water-repellent blue fabrics, plus a eucalyptus-leaf print lining representing Australia’s natural landscapes. The bags come in five sizes, two messengers, a backpack, a 3-way carry bag, and a holster bag.
